Dear Biscuit & Sparkly Watermelon, We were supposed to get snow today, a rarity here in NC. So much so, that grocery stores are flooded with customers going on the Southern milk and bread run (thanks SCA for that term) each time it threatens to snow. Guess what we ran out of?? Milk. Papa went on his way home from work (still no snow) and all they had left was a half gallon of organic 2%. No other milk at all.
Oh, and this happened...
Luckily, I was able to procure some gasoline. 6 miles to empty! Whew!
We spent the day waiting for the white stuff. I'd say we had some fun.
La famille des doigts
We painted. We read. We played mermaids. And Barbie. And pets. We also took a VERY COLD walk in the afternoon. No snow.
And finally, we just got silly.
At 7pm-ish, the snow finally came! We headed outside. Neighbors were sledding. We just enjoyed holding hands and watching it fall.
I cannot wait until you wake up tomorrow. It's really coming down, and L'école est fermée (closed)!!!
You had your Hip Hoppers dance recital at The Little Gym on Saturday night. It was THE BEST! You also showed off gymnastics skills during the last class earlier in the week. You were so excited that parents were permitted to go into the gym. You had been telling everyone in the week leading up to it.
When I showed you the videos (and there are several more), I asked you about the crowd, all the people watching the show. I thought you appeared to be enjoying having a large audience. I asked, "Did having all the people there make you want to dance more?" You said, "What people?"
My friend, Rachel, was right. You were dancing just for me (and Papa and Sparkly). And we LOVED it! Thank you.
One thing about having family out-of-town is that birthdays sometimes come early. Magia, Pakka and Uncie Aaron are visiting this week and decided to throw you a surprise fourth birthday party on Wednesday. While we met some friends at the library for Halloween story time, they cooked your favorite foods: chili
& garlic bread. We sang happy birthday, and you blew out a candle on your strawberry cupcakes.
You has so much fun, I don't even think you need to have a party next month...but there's already something in the works....
We've had some fun this Halloween. Here's some pics from a Halloween trunk-or-treat party, Halloween at L'ecole, Wake Forest's Spooktacular, the Margolis's neighborhood party, our neighborhood party, Wake County Public Library storytime and the McCollum-Hemminger annual party.
I know this is a picture-heavy post, but every event was so much fun! This doesn't even include trick or treat night at our house with some of your friends. You are busy ghouls....
