Time flies, as the saying goes. Your Papa was 32 when I met him. A few weeks ago, he turned 40. It was on a Monday, and we celebrated quietly with his favorite requested meal, pizza chicken (my own recipe I actually came up with after we met). Little did he know, we'd been secretly plotting a celebration in Columbus, Ohio with Aunt Bubbles, Uncle Jason, Gammie, Gampa, and the Crowleys, Papa's best friend and his family.
Here's how it went:
Meeting Aunt Bubbles
Kids table
The awesome birthday cake with 40 years of pictures
Breakfast
Jon and Lucy
So much love
"I want drums"
Dinner at Texas de Brazil
We had such a fun time celebrating Papa. We also did a little Christmas celebrating, too, since we won't be seeing our family in Raleigh this year.
Petit souris
A rare Uncle Jason sighting
Best gift ever: plastic bag cape and wrapping paper skirt
Smiles at goodbye
I am so lucky to be with you two and Papa. Time has been moving so quickly since I met Papa, we were married, and you were born. Before we know it, you'll be 40, realizing your own dreams and maybe busy with families of your own. This has been the best part of my life so far. I wish for you that 40 is as special and exciting as it is for us.
All my love,
Mama
